I have no clue what I want to do, and I feel so much pressure! I want to get into production, directing - of shows and events. I would also love to touch into management. I do economics, maths and drama at a level, and although I would love to do drama, my parents are completely against it as there is no jobs. Which I understand completely. I would love to do economics, but I honestly don't think I could stand an office job like that - dealing with accountancy or economics. I want something inbetween. A career that's challenging and different, something that appeals to me. So HELP! What course should I be looking at? Thanks for any help!

I have just completed first year doing a bbs in event management & pr in an IT. I have been awarded the full grant for second year but this wont cover my accomodation and food and books etc also Unlike last year due to health reasons, i cannot get a job to support myself for the year. I have many relations in scotland who have all offered me a room to stay in plus food for the year!!! And one of them is a nurse so it would work out rather perfectly!! Does anyone know wht procedure i would have to follow to make such a move , if such a move is possible?A friend of mine has told me that you can still receive the gov grant in scotland pending which course you do.any advice would be great, Thanks

I'm thinking of opening my own events business. I did hospitality management HND and did events management as part of my module as well. however, when I graduted there's no internships for me and 1 year later no jobs. I worked in Hilton Hotel as part of my placement but I want to go into events, not hotels. Is it wise to just go into self-employment straight away without experience in the industry? I know what events entails though from uni but not from work. the problem is, no one wants you these days at work. I can't wait any longer until recession ends.

well, I just graduated with a degree in events management and I have used the careers services many times including next step careers advisers. The first time I went to see a careers adviser they told me to update my CV and do a covering letter and that I should apply to 5 companies or more a week but to no avail. Then they suggested I'd volunteering at events companies and phone them up and ask if there's vacancies and whether they need volunteers but none said yes. I did 4 volunteering since I left uni, now I need some money to support myself. I've updated my CV several times with them and sick and tired of going to them if no jobs are available for me. They said that I've updated my CV, I've personalised my covering letter and we've done interview techniques, it's all about being lucky and finding the right one as there's nothing more they can suggest.

Does anyone know anything about this company? If it is possible, please provide more detail and information, such as news, events, etc, about this company. Thanks.
